It's day 6! Older kids are back in school today. Vacation officially over. It was so great enjoying the holidays, not having to take care of anyone, relaxing at the spa, being taken care of, no cooking, no cleaning, no laundry, no doctors appointments. Oh wait, I did all those things except relax at the spa and no one took care of me. The only difference than my usual days was I had to prepare more meals, clean up more, and do more laundry. I did get to sleep later so that was a plus.
Alarm went off at 6:20am and I was up to finish making Cooper's lunch, and both children's breakfast. Only had to warm the sausage I cooked last night. Searched for Cooper's missing shoe, which is still missing???? Drove them to school and was back home at 7am. I drive them in my jammies (shame on me) and climb back into bed when I get home. I tried to go back to sleep with no success. Hubs was up at 7:30 and I lay in bed until 8:30 wishing I was asleep. I got up, woke Sofia up, put her in my bed to watch tv, brought her pig-in-blanket and chocolate milk, and got into the shower. I got my breakfast then got myself ready for my 10:30am podiatrist appointment. My feet are killing me and lunges are almost impossible. I left Sofia home with hubs while I went to my appointment. Need another surgery, that makes #2 on this foot, but it will have to wait until March after my San Francisco Birthday trip!! Did I mention I was going to SF? Hubs has a convention so Sofia and I are tagging along for the first time and we leave on my birthday! Unloaded dryer and put away clothes. Put Sofia down for her nap at 2pm. Cleaned up her toys and the schmootz off the coffee table. Walked into the kitchen where I stepped into a sticky orange wet mess on the floor and also found on the stools???? Cleaned that up. Seems Sofia got hold of a drink when hubs was in the fridge... Never ending messes. Now where should I start or rather where should I continue my never ending chores? Kids will be home from school any minute, I need to gather up dirty laundry, get some groceries, and pick up prescriptions, seal and freeze bulk packages of meat, cook dinner. That is what I will do in that order. TTFN (ta ta for now). Did I mention I had to get a toy hamster (with wheels) out of Sofia's hair...she only lost a small clump. Ouch! Anna and Cooper went with RWC for the evening.
After dinner hubs, Sofia, and I went to the open house at a new academic preschool that opens next week. I had toured the facility last week and liked it. We decided to enroll Sofia 2 mornings a week. She starts next Tuesday. I am so excited for her. I know she will love it. What will I do with the free time? Work out for sure, work on my book, schedule appointments, and maybe even get my nails done once in a while. I haven't had my nails done since August. Squeal!!!!
When we came home I made Sofia a snack and called my mother to see how her lunch out with friends went and to check on my father who has been sick. Hubs and I went over Cooper's math homework. We were actually stumped on one problem. Watched a TV show with hubs and Cooper while Sofia played. 9pm All kids to bed. Will pick up a few toys and try again to listen to Twighlight, so far the last few nights I never got the chance. But first I need to check on Sofia who seems to be having a party in her bed. Silly little girl!!!
That pretty much covers my glamorous day. Ciao and good night. 9:46pm
The Glamorous Life of a S@HM
This blog is to record 365 days in my glamorous life as a S@HM (stay at home mom) Is every day really a vacation and do I get any sick days? You be the judge.
