8:52pm Today after the usual getting the teens out the door, I emptied the the dishwasher, and started a load of laundry. I decided I was going to clear up the catastrophe of my desk and surrounding area. This for me is a very hard task to accomplish and usually ends in several unsuccessful attempts spread over a few weeks and sometimes months. I know you don't understand how that is possible I don't think hubs understands or has a clue have frustrating it is on a daily basis.. I have ADD, attention deficit disorder, and it can make simple tasks a nightmare for me. My brain jumps from one thought to another like an out of control rubber ball is a closed room. I could write a book about the chaos in my mind if I could quiet it enough to get the words out in a comprehensible form. I have to try very hard just to accomplish and remember to accomplish everyday things. It helps me to have a schedule, plan, or routine but even still I may not completely accomplish things. I am hoping that my workout routine and even writing this blog daily will create more structure to my days and ease my daily battle with chaos.
My goal for today was to concentrate on clearing up my desk. Sofia was a doll and played with her play doh, colored, and watched her shows while I tackled the piles. I did really well, even with stopping to make lunch, giving Sofia a bath, and putting her down for a nap. I stopped when Anna and Cooper came home to chat with them. I ran Cooper to the gym for his fitness session, started dinner, went back to get Cooper, and freed Sofia from her bed (again no sleep). Hubs came home from his trip, we ate dinner, Salsbury Steak, mashed potatoes, and garlic sated green beans. I cleaned the kitchen, unloaded the dryer, vacuumed around my desk area and bedroom, and cleaned our air filter. Then I took a few minutes to check my Google Reader and update my Shelfari bookshelf.
Hubs read Sofia a story now it is time for mommy to put her to bed. 9:25pm All the children are in bed, hubs is working and will be getting up very early for another business trip, and I will be blogging, reading, planning, and or thinking before it's light out for me.
So I actually accomplished my goal for today and am quite pleased. I had so many random papers, pictures, business cards, phone numbers, ticket stubs, boxes, cables, and an assortment of things needing to be sorted, filed, recorded, or put away. I still have a few "projects" that need to be completed but they are all in their place until I have the time and focus to tackle them.
Ciao and good night! 9:41pm
The Glamorous Life of a S@HM
This blog is to record 365 days in my glamorous life as a S@HM (stay at home mom) Is every day really a vacation and do I get any sick days? You be the judge.
