Glamorous Day 31 Fire Safe - not too secure

Since Anna and I were up past midnight last night after her dance we all got up late this morning 9am.  We looked at the paper and had breakfast.  I took Anna to church at 11:00am and went shopping/browsing for an hour until time to pick her up.  She had this wonderful idea to "run by me."  She thought I could just fly her and ,I to see her new love, across the state for Valentine's weekend.  Remember she is just 14 and must be crazy if she thinks that is a possibility.  I gently crushed her fantasy.  She cried the whole day.  Broke my heart.  If she only knew she will be crying over boys the rest of her life.

When we got home hubs wanted to go to Fry's to buy me a new printer, so sweet, so I called Abuelita come over and stay with the girls. She came and brought little cousin Olivia to play with Sofia.  Hubs, Cooper, and I went to Fry's.  When we got home I changed the sim card from my iPhone, the one I shattered, to the old iPhone that Sofia plays with.  It took a while to get it all set back up.  Hubs hooked up my new printer. I emptied the dishwasher and put away the clean dishes. I made pasta shells and sauce, sauce was previously made and frozen, and a salad for dinner.  That was my best sauce ever I do believe.  After dinner I cleaned up the kitchen, bathed Sofia, started a load of clothes in the washer, and searched for the keys to my fire safe.  Did I mention I locked the box and hid the key but I have no clue where. I am not so sure why I locked it because I never have before.  I went online to see if I could order a key and to my surprise found countless YouTube videos showing different ways to open it.  I just used the file on fingernail clippers and pushed the latch with NO effort and BING it popped open.  Our passports are now free and we can purchase our airline tickets to Spain for the summer!!! Scary how easy that was and now I have to clean up the huge mess I created in my closet while searching!

9:59pm all kids are in bed and I need to put the clothes in the dryer and start my nightly ritual so I can go to bed.

Glamorous Day 30 Anna and Andy meet

Today we all woke up at 9am.  Today Anna my 14yo daughter has her Sadie dance at school (this is where the girl asks the boy).  Of all the many boys at her school (she goes to  huge high school) she chooses to as a boy that is a friend of a friend.  He lives about 7 hours away across the state.  They have been texting and talking on the phone for about a month.  Today his parents are bringing him to town to take Anna to the dance. Crazy!!  I have never seen her so happy, smiling, nice, respectful, and giddy.  We waited until he arrived at our home at 1pm.  He was a very nice boy and his mother was also very nice.   We dropped Cooper and Sofia off at Maw Maw house and Anna, Andy, hubs, and I went to COSTCO.  On the way home we picked up Sofia and Cooper.  At home The older kids watched a movie.  I watched TV with Sofia.  I heated up some Red Beans and Rice for hubs and I.  Made bratwurst and baked potatoes for Cooper and Sofia.  6:15pm it was time to take the little couple, who are nuts about each other, to the restaurant to meet the other couples in their group.  I went back to pick them up at 8pm and drive them to the high school.  I will be picking them up around 11pm . I am blogging as I wait. 10:09pm not too much longer.

Glamorous Day 29 Getting Ode to Clean

Better late than never.  Up at 6am to get kids ready and off to school.  Home again to do laundry, clean, and make sure the house is perfect for hubs coming home today and Anna's guest coming tomorrow.  I had to take money to Anna at school for her Sadie Dance tickets.  Then Sofia and I went and made a donation of items and stopped at the bank to get Anna money for her dinner tomorrow.  Came home Sofia and I had lunch and I put Sofia down for her nap.  I cleaned a little more until Anna and Cooper came home.  I had a headache so I lay down for an hour.  When hubs got in I made toasted ham and swiss sandwiches.  He ate out all week and I did not feel so well and that was dinner.  Amazing, everyone was happy with that.  We watched a few TV shows and we were all in bed by 10pm*.

Glamorous Day 28 Sleepless but functioning

Once again I was kept awake by a crying toddler until 1:30am.  Then awakened at 4:30am and 5:45am. I was up from then on making breakfast, lunches, getting kids to school, and showering before 7am.  I had Sofia to school by 9am and instead of going to the gym I went and had my nails done.  That sounds wonderful but in reality the lady was so slow.  I had to be at the High School to volunteer at 10:05am and that is when she finished.  I rushed out of there to my car and to the school and messed up the polish!!!!!  The last time I had the luxury of getting my nail done was in August...5 months ago!  Anyway I got to the school and was selling Freshman class t-shirts.  I got to visit with a few of the other moms so that was nice.  I then went to sit with Sofia while she had her lunch at school and then we came home.  I emptied the dishwasher then put her for a nap.  30 minutes after she fell asleep Cooper came home from school and I had to take him to trumpet lessons.  I had let Anna go to the mall with friends to get her outfit for the Sadie Hawkins dance this weekend.  So with nobody to watch Sofia i had to wake her up and take her with me.  We dropped off Cooper and came home.  Abuelita was nice enough to pick him up and bring him home.  At 5:30pm we went to the mall to pick up Anna and the we went to Chinese/Sushi buffet for dinner.  After dinner we were near Abuelita and Pappa's house so we by to visit for a little while.  We were home by 8pm and Sofia had a bath then her nightly popcorn.  Now all the kids are in bed and I have already spoken to hubs, who comes home tomorrow, so I am free to sleep.  I hope I can get a good nights sleep tonight.

Glamorous Day 27 A Full Day In The Kitchen With Pictures

Sometimes I feel like I spend most of my time in the kitchen.  My daughter even wrote a paper for school about me and the subject was how much time I spend in the kitchen.  Go figure.

Last night I did not get to sleep until around 1:30am.  Ugg!  This morning started at 6am getting everyone ready and fed and off to school.  These are the piggies I made. Oh and that is the sweet cream I put in my coffee, my little bit of luxury.

Went back to bed at 7am until 8:30am then Sofia and I got up, had breakfast, looked at the newspaper, and unloaded the dishwasher.  Then I got this crazy idea to make a triple batch of spaghetti sauce.  I let it cook for about three hours.

This then led to me deciding to chop and freeze celery, and a mix of red and green peppers with onion and garlic. I use these for cooking quite often. I scoop it into muffin pans, freeze, then put veggie muffins into freezer bags.  When I need one I just take out a muffin.  Nice, easy, and handy.

I made lunch for Sofia and I.....Sofia ate, I got busy and never ate.  My bad.  I then cleaned and rearranged the refrigerator freezer and the big deep freezer.  That led me to see the ham bone and decide to make red beans for red beans and rice.  Hubs loves it and it will be cold this weekend so it's the perfect comfort food.
It also cooked for about three hours.  I got to use some of my chopped veggies, the ham, and sausage.

I put Sofia for a nap around 2:15pm and was still in the kitchen cleaning and cooking when Anna and Cooper came home.  I separated the cooled spaghetti sauce into three containers and froze it.  I had to wait on the beans to finish cooking.  Before long it was time to think about cooking dinner.  That is hard to do when you've been cooking all day.  I decided on stir fry beef. Sorry no picture.  I cut up the meat, made a marinade, let the meat marinate, started the rice, and got the stir fry veggies ready.  Got the stir fry going and fried a little meat for Cooper who won't eat stir fry.  It came out really good.  I cleaned the kitchen and we all watched American Idol.  We only like the audition part of the season.  Soon it was time for the kids to go to bed and for me to blog.  Sofia was crying and I had to go up to her four times before she finally went to sleep. I called hubs. He will be home in two days.  It's been a long week.  Tomorrow is a busy day and I need to get to sleep.  I will probably be dreaming about the Apple iPad which was revealed today...sooooo cool.

Glamorous Day 26 Sick Kids

My night did not go as planned.  I ended up cleaning the kids bathroom.  Teenage girls are so messy.  I watched last weeks Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.  Then I went to bed and was unable to sleep until after midnight.  I tossed and turned and got up at 5:45 to get Anna's food packed for her tennis tournament and I made some pigs in a blanket for breakfast.  6:15am Sofia was coughing nonstop and crying.  I put her in my bed and gave her medicine.  She got up so when Anna left at 6:25am Sofia and I ate a piggy and went back to bed.  To my surprise she went back to sleep until about 9am.  We got up, Cooper was up (he had to stay home since he got sick at school yesterday) we had breakfast again.  I started cleaning the kitchen, ran dishwasher, had Cooper vacuum, I mopped, and then I dusted.  I also cleaned the other bathrooms and watered plants.  I did a little net surfing and then made lunch for the kids. Put Sofia down for a nap 1:30pm.  I need to get my lunch...Bought Rotisserie Chicken Salad yesterday and will put it on toasted bread....yummm!  Ok not so yum, needed something like apple or cranberries.  Showered, emptied dishwasher, read some blogs, and soon it was time to pick up Anna. Home again, home again and time to think about dinner.  Anna stopped at McDonald's on her way home and Cooper was eating candy when we got home......Makes me not want to cook.  Simple beef Stroganoff  and green beans. What do you know Cooper ate.  We all watched American Idol.  Poor Sofia had several crying, cranky breakdowns because of her cold.  I cleaned the kitchen again.  My clean house is covered with toys and fingerprints. 9:40pm All the kids in bed now maybe I can catch up on General Hospital.  Then I'll talk to hubs and off to bed for me.

Glamorous Day 25 This day was out of order

This day was out of order and unstructured my worst enemy.  Hubs was up very early and out the door somewhere between 5am and 5:30am.  I was up 6:20am for the usual morning routine. Had to write and fax notes to Anna's school. 6:45 Sofia was crying so I brought her to my bed.  Texted hubs. Went back to sleep.  Sofia slept until 9:30ish  Made breakfast, emptied dishwasher, dried clothes, and looked at coupons and recipes on web.  Sofia and I went to HEB grocery for some things, I was just taking my time,  My cell phone rang about 1:40pm.  School nurse calling that Cooper was sick and needed to be picked up.  Had to check out, put groceries in car, call mom to tell her I would be home late (she was waiting there to keep Sofia and Cooper while I took Anna to doctor).  Dash into Anna's school sign her out, drive over to Cooper's school, rush in to check him out, get home unload groceries, put up cold things, rush Anna to her appointment.  Made it to Anna's appointment and home by 3:30. Mom made some kind of Mexican casserole with corn.  We are not corn fans.  Sofia never slept when I put her for nap.  She has still been coughing and has runny nose.  Cooper has to stay home tomorrow since he was sent home today.  Not sure if Sofia can go to school tomorrow either.  Washed load of clothes for Anna.  Cooper went to scouts and Anna went to Tennis.  Gave Sofia a bath. Took a shower.  Anna and Cooper made it home.  Counting the minutes to put Sofia to bed....10, 9, 8....  Pack Anna's lunch and snacks for her all day Tennis Tournament tomorrow.  I will call hubs and chat a while, maybe watch a little TV then off to bed for me.

Glamorous Day 24 Attack of the Killer Migraine

Ok so the night was awful with my migraine at it's peak and Sofia crying off and on, she was sick, did not help.  I brought Sofia to my bed at 8am and Anna and Cooper left for Church at 8:30am.  When Sofia got up for breakfast I stayed in bed a while longer*.  I got up and showered, hubs made me a yummy cappuccino, made some toast, and looked at the paper.  I scanned 3 pictures so hubs could try to restore them.  Cooked Sloppy Joe's for lunch. Did a little searching on the internet.  Washed 2 loads of laundry. Wrote yesterdays blog entry.  Made Crawfish Alfredo and a Salad for dinner.  Cleaned kitchen, gave Sofia a bath, watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition, and put away laundry.  Checked email, Google reader, and blogs.  Hubs will be up and gone early.  He's out of town for the week.  Will putter around a little longer then i will be off to bed.

Glamorous Day 23 Migraine day #2

Posting a day late due to MIGRAINE!!!!  I can't even remember much from yesterday. I went to be with a headache and Sofia woke up crying several times. Cooper and his guest went fishing at 8am and were back home by 10am.  At 1:30pm the kids and I went to Rosita and Jack's for lunch.  Abuelita and Papa were there too.  Hubs stayed home to work.  We got back home about 5:30pm  watched TV ate whatever we could scrounge up for dinner with the exception of hubs.  I brought him home a plate of food.  We watched boxing then I put Sofia to bed and went to bed myself still with headache.  That is all I can think of, I am sure I unloaded the dishwasher and a few other daily rituals
